The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kebbi State Command on Thursday promoted 144 officers just as it vowed to go tough on vandals in the state.
The Commandant, Kabiru Abubakar Alkamawa said the command has arrested two persons caught vandalizing and stealing electric cables and other installations in area of Birnin Kebbi.
The NSCDC commandant disclosed this while while decorating the 144 officers of the state command in Birnin Kebbi said there was rise in the cases of vandalization and stealing of electric cables in recent time in the state and his men have been arresting persons suspected to be responsible for this.
He charged the newly decorated officers to be up and doing in the discharge of their assigned duties and ensure they delivered as expected.
"Cases of vandalization and stealing of electric cables and other installations will be met with zero tolerance.
"We will continue to arrest and prosecute anyone caught vandalizing and stealing electric installations and cables", he said.
