FUBK convocation: 148 graduands bag first class degrees

A total of 148 students are to graduate with first class degrees at the maiden combined convocation of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.


The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Muhammad Zaiyan Umar during a pre convocation press briefing at the institution's Senate building on Wednesday said a total of 3,373  students that have been found worthy in character and learning would receive the degree certificates of the university.


He said "A  total of 1,122 students will graduate with second class upper, 2,034 second class lower and 69 with third class. 


"The graduands can collect their certificates immediately after the convocation ceremony," he said.


He added that the FUBK would be conferring honorary doctorate degree on four distinguished Nigerians whose eminence in their respective endeavours cannot be overemphasized.


Those to be conferred with honorary degrees of the university are the former governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Usman Dakingari, Ambassador Abubakar Sani, Makaman Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu  Indimi, Sole founder and chairman,Orient Energy Resources and Mr Leo Stan Ekeh, founder of Konga.Com.
