The Senator representing Kebbi South Senatorial District at the Senate, Garba Musa Mai Doki has awarded N45m scholarships to 1,291 students under his Students and Youth Educational Empowerment program.
The 1,291 sudents were drawn from his senàtorial district and are studying at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi, Federal University of Agriculture Zuru, Kebbi State University Science and Technology Aliero, Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, University of Jos, and Bayero University Kano. They are awarded N35,000 each.
The Chairman, screening and payment committee, Professor Umar Ahmed Sanda, said only 100-level students from the specified universities were eligible and selected through verification of their details and original documents.
He said 291 of them are from Federal University of Agriculture, A Zuru, 141 from UDUS Sokoto, 292 from FUBK, 514 from KSUSTA, 14 from BUK, 11 from Uni Jos, and 28 others are ABU Zaria students.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the awards judiciously while tasking parents and guardians to ensure proper use of the funds.
The Project supervisor, from the National Productivity Centre, Abuja, Mrs. Chinyere Ezem advised the students to take advantage of the scholarship to improve their studies.
