Remembering Chief Frederick Fasehun

I learnt this is the newly commissioned Oodua House, the permanent secretariat of Oodua People's Congress. While giving kudos to Iba Gani Adams for his sacrifices and commitment to the sustenance and growth of Oodua People's Congress, I think this house should be dedicated to the memory of the pioneer leader of the group, Chief Fredrick Fasehun.

In all honesty, there cannot be an OPC without Chief Fasheun and in his honour and memory, whatever might have been the fight and misgivings of the past should be buried and honour him for his numerous sacrifices and labour for what OPC has become today.

This is not in anyway discounting or belittling the input, sacrifice and efforts of Iba Gani Adams to transform the OPC to whatever it is today, however, in the same vein, in the knowledge of our father's in Yorubaland, "tí baàsè kò ba sè, ko si ohun ti baàlà fẹẹ lá". Chief Gani Adams should be grateful to God for how far He has helped and sustained him.

Honouring the memory of Chief Fasehun and all other numerous Yoruba sons and daughters whose blood was literarily used to plant, nurture and grow the OPC (whether reformed, rebranded or franchised) today and this will go a long way to place Chief Gani Adams in his rightful position as the authentic Aare Ona-kaka-n-fo of Yorubaland.

May Iba Gani Adam continue to reign in his majesty and congratulations to all members of the group and Yorubas in general.
