The Nigeria Immigration Service Kebbi state Command has said it would revive it's local government area divisional offices for effective intelligence gathering and performance of its officers and men.
The new Comptroller of the NIS in Kebbi State, Saidu Mohammed Sabo while briefing journalists at the NIS command in Birnin Kebbi said there was bulk of work for the service at the local government levels but because of laxity on the parts of those assigned the local areas have not been properly monitored for effective performance of duty by the service.
He said It's from the local governments that intelligence gathering are done not only for the Immigration Service but for other security agencies in the state.
"The primary functions of the Immigration Service is to monitor the activities of foreigners before and while they are in the country.
"We would focus on revatilizing the divisional offices in the 21 local government areas of Kebbi State to ensure effective performance of our duty and intelligence gathering, he said.
He assured that the service is commited to discharging its primary responsibility which include strategizing with other security agencies and the state government for effective service delivery in the state.
