Kebbi State Government on Saturday alleged sabotage by a powerful individual in the state as Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company (KAEDCO) cut electricity supply to the state secretariat, presidential lodge and waterboard.
While addressing journalists in Birnin Kebbi, the special adviser to the governor on power and politics, Alhaji Kabiru Sani Gaint said the cutting of electricity supply to the state secretariat, presidential lodge and waterboard was aimed at ridiculing and distrusting activities of the Kebbi State Government because the state was not owing.
"We want the people of kebbi State to know what is going on. What is for them is for them. And whatever government is doing is in their interest.
"Kebbi has never defaulted in the payment of its bills to the electricity company", he said.
He added that the government was aware that the individual using KAEDCO to sabotage the state government was in the immediate past administration. He said "he was aggrieved the governor did not give him the political appointment he was seeking from him. He connived with KAEDCO to ridicule the state government".
The special adviser to the governor said the state government pays nothing less than 27m to Kaedco every month. "There are even some of our agencies that had settled Kaedco bills 10 years ahead", he said.
He called on the management of KAEDCO to investigate the issue and as well call those managing it's office in kebbi State to order because the state government would no longer tolerate any act of sabotage.
