Governor Nasiru Idris of Kebbi State has signed the N250,134,091,757.01 (Two Hundred and Fifty Billion, One Hundred and Thirty Four Million, Ninety One Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Seven Naira, One Kobo ) 2024 budget, tagged 'Budget of Infrastructure and People's Empowerment' into law.
While signing the at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, the governor pledged to implement it to the latter transparently with emphasis on infrastructural development and empowerment of people of the State.
He commended the legislators for quick passage of the budget saying it shows they have people of Kebbi State at heart and are alive to their responsibilities.
Presenting the 2024 budget, the Speaker, Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Usman Muhammad Ankwe described the presentation as significant milestone in the democratic journey of Kebbi State.
He said the budget was a culmination of extensive consultation, deliberation and rigorous scrutiny by dedicated members of the House.
"The 2024 budget was not merely a financial document but represents collective aspirations for people of Kebbi State and served as road map for Kebbi State Government in achieving its developmental goals and objectives", he said.
