The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has taken a swipe at the administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC ) in the state saying it was squandering public funds unjustifiably on projects that has no direct bearing on the people.
The PDP in a statement signed by it's State Chairman, Usman Bello Suru said it was amazed that the APC led administration in kebbi State had arranged a ceremony for it's 100 days in office without anything on ground except the white elephant projects aimed at squandering public funds.
"It is to the knowledge of every Kebbi citizen that the administration has expended several billions of naira on white elephant projects centred in only in Birnin Kebbi", it said..
The statement added that Instead of focussing on poverty that is killing people on daily basis in every corner of the state, the state government is so insensible to dash out N10 billion for alleged completion of state secretariat with an initial N27 billion already expended on.
It said"No government in it's senses would claim to have spent over N9 billion just to redress an already existing 8 kilometre municipal roads when our hospitals are in sorry state.
"We find it condemnable to have expended almost N20b on beautification of a town when people in zuru emirate are suffering with un mortorable road which N7b would have been enough to solve the problem.
"It is on record that the state Governor spent close to N2b on domestic and international trips with no bearing to human development when over 10,000 citizens are scattered and displaced as a result of banditry".
It added that people of the state have always wondered the haste at which the state government is sipponing the treasury without due process in awarding meaningless contracts thereby making it withdraw over N40b Naira in two month without state executive council.
It said farmars in the state were carjolled into a dubious free distribution of toxic fartilizer which damaged substantial agricultural output in the name of support .
"Similarly, the construction of additional structures at Medical Centre Kalgo when hospital is not equiped with so many unoccupied structures is not only a misplacement of priority but a grand plan to enrich themselves." the PDP said.
The statement said the PDP In Kebbi State fawns at incompetence of the APC government in financial dealings and considered it in insensitive to the Plight of the common man.
"We call on the good people of Kebbi state to stand against this reckless adminstration disregard it's anti people policies and voice out their condemnation on it's ungodly behaviour", it said.
