Speaking with our correspondent. She explains her passion and reasons for venturing into politics.
I decided to venture into politics because Women are underrepresented in elective positions in our political space in Ekiti State over the years and I feel it's high time Women are to compete with their male counterparts. Interestingly, as you all know, Ekiti is quite endowed with highly intelligent, enlightened, and brilliant women. And such resources when harnessed would add more value to the administration and polity of the state as we are mothers and can relate more to the needs of the father and the child as well. (Smiles)
Speaking about her role models, she mentioned these great people from different fields that have participated well in the development of their societies. They include Chief Segun Oni, former Governor of Ekiti state because of his prudence and resilience. A goal-getter as she described him. Chief Afe Babalola, the founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti. Chief Mrs Folorunso Alakija. Mrs. Alonge Stella Olufunmilayo is vying for the Ekiti State House of Assembly seat (Ikere Constituency 1) under the aegis of the Social Democratic Party SDP
