Ada Ameh, a popular actress, known for her role as Emu in Africa Magic family drama, The Johnsons, died on Sunday night.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, has confirmed the news.
He said, “We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada,”
However, viral unverified reports on social media claimed that the actress died Sunday night at a hospital in Delta State.
The actress. a few weeks ago, opened up about her mental health challenges.
“Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it,” Ameh had said.
The 48-year-old actress had earlier revealed that she got pregnant with her daughter at 13.
According to her, this happened because peers introduced her to sex early.
Despite her early motherhood, the actress, in October 2020, lost her daughter, Aladi Godgift, who was over 30 years old.
Aladi had died after an unsuccessful surgery in Abuja, and the actress, last year, visited her daughter’s grave site to mark the deceased one-year remembrance.
She had also celebrated her daughter on the latter’s posthumous birthday
Also, the gap-toothed actress, popular for playing Ireti in the now-defunct family drama, Fuji House of Commotion, died on Monday.
Her death was announced by a renowned movie critic and film specialist, Husseini Shaibu, via his Twitter page.

Shaibu said, “Just learnt that the accomplished Stage and Screen Actress and Fellow of Theatre Arts Auntie Sola Awojobi Onayiga passed on today.
“Auntie Sola is best known for living delightfully the role of Ireti aka Cooking practicals in the defunct TV sitcom ‘CHECKMATE’! Journey well, Ma!”
