A Saudi Arabia organization, International Islamic Relief Organization in collaboration with Muslim World League in Kaduna on Friday disbursed N131m to orphans in kebbi State.
The organization under the 3leadership of Dr Tahir Baba Ibrahim presented the cheques to Kebbi State Governor for on transfer to orphans in the state.
Governor Bagudu who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Babale Umar Yauri, while receiving the cheques commended the organizations for their gestures to the less privileges in kebbi.
He said the state government was at all time committed to assisting and empowering the less privileges in the state. "Even now the Governor has directed office of the permanent secretary, cabinet and political to ensure the less privileges were captured and benefitted from the assistance",he said.
He called on the wealthy and spirited individuals in the state to complement the efforts of the organizations and government in assisting the less privileges in the communities.
He said "Its shrined in Islamic law that wealthy ones or well to do should assist the poor and vulnerable in their respectively communities".
The SSG on behalf of the Governor presented two symbolic cheques to two of the beneficiaries of the funds.
In his remarks, the team leader, Tahir Baba Ibrahim said little changes have been introduced into the disbursement of the funds from their headquarters in Saudi Arabia.
He said instead of the earlier one year or two year payment of the funds to beneficiaries its now six months onward payment because in the previous years their offices across the world were shut down because of the misunderstanding of their mission. But since they had been cleared and vindicated the payments for those years would now be made.
In his appreciation of the state government's efforts in assisting less privileges a copy of translated new version of the Quran by late Sheikh Abubakar Gumi was presented to Governor Bagudu.
