ALAAFIN 18 WIVES, THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS IF ANY MAN SEEKS THEM

Following the death of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, his 18 wives are now available for other suitors who might be interested in marrying them.

In the report which was made by Vanguard on Monday, April 25th, an Oyo Chief stated that however, the ladies are not permitted to marry someone from Oyo. That means, if they want to marry, the man must not be someone that comes from Oyo.

The chief said that no cleansing will be needed and that the women are free to go about their normal lives.

Speaking further, the chief said that all the women will be asked to leave the palace with their belongings now that the Alaafin is dead, even though they would share the late monarch's properties.

According to the report which was made by BBC News Pidgin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was 31 years old when he ascended the throne as the Alaafin of Oyo, and he was married to two wives at that time. The two women he was married to before he became the Alaafin of Oyo were Ayaba Abibat Adeyemi and Ayaba Rahmat Adedayo Adeyemi. In his over fifty years of reign, he was married to several more women.

Oba Lamidi Adeyemi was presented with the staff of office on January 14th, 1971, and was the longest-reigning Alaafin ever.

The Alaafin of Oyo passed away on Friday night at Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, at the age of 83. His death attracted reactions from far and wide, and everyone who had contact with him had wonderful things to say about him. Now that he is no more, it has been established that his wives can now move on with their lives, and get married to other people.
