It was in the report that Police authorities in Lagos State on Tuesday paraded the driver of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle involved in the murder of 22-year-old Ayanwole.
The driver, Andrew Nice Omininikoron, and another accomplice were arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives in Ososa, Odogbolu area of Ogun State on Monday. The DSS subsequently handed them over to the police.
Speaking on the allegations of sexual assault and missing body parts, the Alabi said police officers and family members of the victim were all at the mortuary, and there was no part of the victim’s body that was mutilated.
He added that the post-mortem process has been initiated and the result will clarify if there was any form of sexual abuse on the victim.
“That is not true (when asked about the reported missing body parts). I visited the morgue myself, and I saw the lifeless body. Members of the family were there too with the DPO Ebute Ero, and they can confirm that no part of her body was missing.
The various Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) terminals across Lagos State were without vehicles on Tuesday morning.
It was gathered that all BRT operations have been halted following the murder of Bamise Ayanwole.
It was reported that 22-year-old Ayanwole was abducted and gruesomely murdered after boarding a BRT.
It is understood that the decision by the management of Primero Transport Services, operators of Blue BRT buses, is temporary.
Meanwhile, fresh information on Tuesday morning showed that the police in Lagos were in possession of late Ayanwole’s body since Sunday and took her to a morgue, but refused to provide information until the family became aware on Monday.
It is also being alleged that the same bus the deceased was last seen in, worked for days after the incident.
