Why I Want To Be Governor Of Kebbi State - Major Gen Aminu Bande

Former General Officer Commanding the A Division, of the Nigerian Army, Retired Major General Aminu Bande has declared his intention to contest the Governorship position of Kebbi State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While fielding questions from journalists during his visit to the PDP Secretariat in Birnin Kebbi where he declared his intention for number position in kebbi state, Bands said  "As a former commanding officer, A division in Sokoto,   I  joined politics to use my experience to offer services to my state ,kebbi state, and its people. After due consultation, I come to inform my party about my intention to run for the governorship of kebbi state.

"I have consulted with stakeholders from every segment of the state and they gave me their approval. I want us to join hands together to effect changes and correct some of the wrong things going on in our dear state. 

"This is not how we were before. No tangible transformation and progress in the state. For many years the state has remained nothing but glorified local government.  Go to Gombe, Ekiti, and other states to see the transformation they have gone through. 

"Its time for us to join hands together in Kebbi State for every one of us to live a better life in the state.  In all the four emirates in the state, there is nowhere PDP is not known and accepted. It was known to everyone even at the international communities that PDP had been short changed in every elections that had taken place in the state. 
"There are many irregularities in the just concluded local government election in the state. This kind of thing should not be allowed to continue. It's better we vote the personality that will help us to turn things around in the state. Its time for the PDP to stop being in the opposition party and take over governance of kebbi state". 

The retired general said he was in the Nigerian Army for 35 years with unblemished service to the nation. "As infantry soldier I commanded the army as platoon commander, company commander,  , battalion, commander,  brigade commander and I retired as General Officer Commanding A division of the Nigerian Army", he said.
