Kebbi Council Election: Police Deploys Security Personnel, Warns Political Thugs

Ahead of the 5th of February Local Government Election, the Kebbi State Police Command has warned political thugs, miscreants, and politicians who might want to engage themselves in any unlawful activity during the election period to desist from it as they will be arrested and prosecuted.

A press statement signed by the Kebbi State Police Command Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Nafiu Abubakar for the State Commissioner of Police, Musa Baba said measures have been put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of the election and bring anyone caught trying to disrupt it to book.

"The Kebbi State Police Command and other security agencies in the state are fully prepared to ensure hitch-free 2022 Kebbi State Local Government Councils Election", the statement said.

It said the Police will continue to ensure the safety of lives and property of the good people of the state before, during, and after the election.

The Command also stated that restriction of vehicular and motorcycle movement on election day is still in force from 0600hrs to 1800hrs of Saturday, 5th February 2022.

"Whoever contravenes this order, will be arrested, investigated, and prosecuted accordingly", it said.
