APC Wins All Kebbi LGs' Chairmanship, Councillorship Seats

The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) has declared All Progressive Congress (APC ) winner of the 21 Local Government Chairmanship and 225 Councillorship seats in the Saturday of last week local government election in kebbi state.

The KESIEC chairman, Aliyu Muhammad Mera in a press statement said the APC swept all the chairmanship and Councillorship seats in the council election in which 17 political parties participated on 5, February 2022.

He said "Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission based on the power conferred on it by section 197 of the 1999 constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to organized,supervised and conduct election into the local government councils in the state, election was held into the 21 Local Government Areas and 225 Electoral wards in the state".

He commended the state government for ensuring that local governments are governed by democratically elected council chairmen and councilors.

" I equally thank all the security agencies and other relevant stakeholders for supporting the council election", he said.
