One person was confirmed dead while two others sustained injuries on Tuesday in a lone accident involving a Sienna car around Christopher University on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesperson, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi explained that the accident occurred around 6:03am.
He said that the vehicle with number plate KMR 508 XA loaded with bags of foodstuffs and other goods had one of its front tyre burst while on motion, and it summersaulted in the process, throwing its content on the road.
The TRACE spokesman noted that the car was travelling to Lagos, saying that all those involved were all males.
Akinbiyi explained that the corpse of the victim had been deposited in the morgue of Idera Hospital, Sagamu while those injured were receiving treatment in the same hospital.
He commiserated with the family of the deceased while advising motorists to desist from buying fairly-used tyres (tokunbo tyres).
