Traffic on the Island: Group tasks Sanwo-Olu to call LASTMA, CBD to order

For a better Lagos and traffic free area in Idumota axis and other parts of Lagos Island, Concerned citizen of Lagos has called on Lagos State government, to arrest unnecessary traffic logjam caused by miscreants around Idumota and Eyin Eyo area of Lagos Island.

In a statement signed by the chairman of the group, Prince Adeyemo, said the menace caused by some miscreants around Idumota has really made traffic flow inward Balogun a great issue of recent.

He stressed further, "We want the situation to be arrested as soon as possible and those that were supposed to take care of the situation are the real law breaker. Officials of Central Business District too are not forth coming in their responsibility, LASTMA officials in charge of Idumota axis are aware of this yet they are in connivance with those breaking the law. The traffic caused by motorist that are picking passengers where they are not supposed to, makes movement from Idumota towards Martins street around Balogun area a herculean task on a daily basis.

"Police are there, they are after money they get from motorist causing the logjam. These people that are supposed to monitor and control inflow of traffic aren't doing their job, hence something has to be done. "

Also, he has implored government to clear out those trading on roads in Lagos that causes unnecessary logjam of traffic around the city.

Concerned citizen of Lagos is a non-governmental organization that champions opinion that could be of great benefit to all residents of Lagos with its head office on the Island in Lagos.
