How a top movie producer sold house to secure son's release from kidnappers

A
yo Ojolowo, a member of Indigenous Movie Makers Association of Nigeria, IMMAN, is faced with financial crisis as he put up his house at Ota, Ogun State for sale after the kidnap of his son, Abdullahi Olatunji Ojolowo.

According to a close associate of this movie producer, he said the building has been sold off at the wake of the kidnap of his son.

Though, having kept it secret from the public, a sum of 10 million naira was demanded as ransom and in a quick swift to save the life of the young man from his captor, the family decided to sell off the property and paid an undisclosed amount of money to secure the boy’s release.

It was reliably gathered that the property has once been abandoned by Ayo Ojolowo having fled Nigeria to Germany sometimes in 2018 with his wife and children after the Baddoo attack on his family.

According to the source, “It was a rude shock to so many of us that are his close associates, the abduction was made secret we didn't know he was passing through such, and the news of the sale of his property was done with two weeks of the whole saga and its quite painful because he was a good jolly fellow we could have rallied around.”

Ayo Ojolowo being an indigene from Ilorin, in Kwara State hired the service of one of his family friends that is based in Ilorin to sell the house to a popular Motor dealer, Kingsley Adebayo of Kings Motor in Ota, Ogun State.

Effort to reach Ayo Ojolowo for comment did not yield result as a message sent to one of his social media handle was yet to be attended to.

Ayo Ojolowo is a movie producer, a music promoter and the quest for the better living of Nigerian actors made him and some of his colleagues left Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners and founded another professional group called IMMAN some years back.

To his name he has the following movies, Ilu awon agba, Agbofinro (The police officer) and Ladugbo Mi and his musical promotional outfit has these, Anjonu elere by King Dr Saheed Osupa and Imoran by Kutube Anobi.
