movie actress, Funmi Lawal was arraigned on Monday at Igbosere Magistrate court
on a four count charges having been invited earlier by Alagbon Police station
over an allegation of false
accusation of fraud against Prophet Dele Ogundipe.funmi, Dele and Jesse
The Yoruba actress was accused of granting an
interview to an online blogger one, Bukky Jesse, and during the interview she
claimed Prophet Dele Ogundipe of Celestial
Church of Christ, Genesis
Model Parish defrauded her a sum of two million naira.
Having read the four count charges to her, she pleaded not guilty
and she was asked if she would want the case to be heard at Igbosere magistrate
court 2 or move to a high court.
The Yoruba actress gave her consent and
her lawyer prayed for a flexible bail condition for her which the judge agreed.
The Judge ruled that she should provide
two surety with a good means of livelihood and a bail bond of
five hundred thousand naira.
The case has been adjourned to 9th
November 2020.
It could be recalled that the case was supposed to commence on Wednesday 9th of September but got adjourned.Funmi in court
At the wake of the scandalous story
against the Celestial Church Prophet, the matter
was reported at Alagbon Police Station and the
actress was invited and upon interrogation, we learnt she confessed that the Prophet, Israel Ogundipe did not
collect any money from her.
“Meanwhile, to put the record straight, the man of God
decided to take the case to court to clear his name of being
a fraudster.” One of his aides said.
The source continued, Prophet Dele Ogundipe has never met the actress in his life and it was confusing when the news filtered out and a quick measure has to be taken by inviting police to look into the case.”
Of recent, the man of God has suffered different accusation and this was what prompted him to seek for legal means to fight to save his integrity.
