ALESH ONILEGBALE @ 50, SAYS LIFE HAS TAUGHT ME SO MUCH... AS HE TELLS MORE ABOUT HASSAN OGOGO

Alesh Onilegbale Rilwan is a well-known name in the entertainment industry today. Being an actor and a politician, he has been able to touch so many lives with his prolific acts in the make-believe world.

Today, Alesh as he is fondly called is 50 years old, and in his words, he said, “I feel so great and grateful for attaining golden jubilee age.”

Reacting to what life has taught him in his 50 years of existence, Rilwan said, “Life has taught me so much, that I am so glad I passed through those stages that I could say it’s been so interesting. See, anyone in life has that splendid and fantastic moment where you feel it’s all about you but at the same time God Almighty; being who He is will shock you and you would be wondering that what have I done wrong! But all in all; the God I serve is so fantastic and He is a favourable Allah.”

His sojourn so far in the world of acting, he said, “Hmmmmmmmm it’s been very interesting and all I can say is God is good because I couldn’t really say how it worked out for me that I came this far and still counting. I came, I saw and I eventually conquered though, I couldn’t say it’s my smartness or being a perfectionist ooooo but when God mastered your plan, definitely, you can’t account for it, but just remain grateful for His grace on my career and life generally."

Alesh Onilegbale did give kudos to one of his many bosses in Odunfa, he said, “Well I will say Alhaji Al-Hassan Babatunde Taiwo Ogogo did make it all possible because as a brother in the hood, he encouraged, inspired and motivated me to feel free in the industry as he stood and guide me through thick and thin. I got to Odunfa through Chief Kakawa whose house was where Odunfa Caucus was formed and being a true born of Ebute Metta and a stooge to baba Oloye, Chief Kaka, I automatically became part of Odunfa Caucus due to my relationship and a solid member as well.

“The group is blessed with wonderful people and an adage in Yoruba says, Omo to ba so Ile nu lo so apo iya ko ni, I have never and will never be ungrateful to them because God used them to make me what I am today.”

Delving into politics he said, “Having seen how most elected politicians deal with the situation, I felt it’s not really nice the way they handle issues that concern common man, so I felt let me give it a push and I found myself running for electives posts but its quite unfortunate that I never won any elective post but I am not giving up.”

Taking us down to his roots in Lagos, he said, “I am a native of Lagos Island, Isale Eko to be precise. I am a descendant of the first royal family of Lagos, Oba Ado who was the grandfather of our great grandfather which my lineage falls. Ogboni Iduntafa also known as Onilegbale of Lagos State.
“I came from a family of 8 and I am the third child but the first son. I had my basic education but couldn’t push it further to higher institutions, I worked at western textiles at Ilupeju before I moved into freight forwarding business which I later dropped for the love of acting.
Alesh Onilegbale is married with kids, but not from his sector. In his remarks, he said, “The industry is blessed with beautiful women that are of great talents, but God says mine is not among that is all."
