GREEDY KAZEEM KILLED LOVER IN OGUN STATE OVER MONEY

A 47-year- old man, Kazeem Adebayo, who murdered his 30-year-old lover, Abosede Adesanya, over N500,000 have been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command.

The suspect, who resides in Ijebu-Igbo, was arrested following a complaint by the mother of the deceased, one Amoke Onasanya.

It was gathered the victim’s mother on January 25, lodged a complaint at Ijebu-Igbo divisional headquarters, that her daughter received a call from her man-friend the day before that he has got a plot of land for her to buy for her mother, after which the victim left home with the sum of N530,000.

However, hours after she left home, her mobile phone was switched off and it was difficult to reach her, and when she didn’t see her daughter the following day, she went to the police to lodge a complaint.

After the report to the police, the said man-friend, Adebayo, was invited by the police, but he denied knowing the whereabouts of the lady.

The development prompted the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, to order the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, DCP Wale Abbas, to take over the investigation with the view of discovering the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the victim, a mother of five.

The investigation embarked upon by the detectives from SCIID led to the discovery of a shallow grave right inside the suspect’s house.

When the grave was dug, the decomposing body of the victim was discovered and it was at this point that the suspect confessed killing the deceased and took possession of the #530,000 on her.

He confessed further that he used a club to hit her on the head, which led to her death and subsequently buried her in his house, in order to conceal the crime.

He also confessed that he had used N30,000 out of the money he took from the deceased to settle an outstanding debt, while the remaining #500,000 was kept with one his friends.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the body of the woman had been deposited at the mortuary for post mortem, while the Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu, had directed the SCIID to expedite action into the investigation in order to arraign the suspect before a court of competent jurisdiction as soon as possible.
