Born
Bamidele Opeyemi Ishola, Popstar Decoded has taken mainland music scene by
storm. The Durodede crooner who is currently under the management of Olayinka
Oladokun’s RealSoul Entertainment, is taking the Shakushaku tune to another
level.
Decoded
who started his music career with the regular Pop sound has found love and
favour in the current trend of Shakushaku rhythm.
Chaolin
Temple, Mule and Durodede are three of Decoded’s major contributions to
Shakushaku and they are back to back hits. According to the music Acts,
his best is yet to come. “I had always believed in myself. Even when it looked
like fame was not going to come, I kept pushing and pushing until I found my
balance in the industry. It wasn’t easy but endurance and hard work paid off at
the end of the day.”
Asked
what has changed about him since his music gone viral, the very humble musician
said nothing that he remains his humble self. “Nothing has changed with me.
Yes, the awareness is much. The attention is increasing by the day. Money is also
coming in more than before but, it will be wrong for me to use this as an
excuse to change my way of life. I still hang out in my hood. I still do things
I like to do despite the fame unless it becomes practically difficult.”
What are the difficult things that you used to do before and can
no longer do now? We asked, “Yes, things like getting on a public transport are
becoming more and more difficult. Like playing football with my friends, I
always enjoy these things but, it’s looking like I won’t be able to do them
anymore. I will miss that part of my life. Most times, I feel like getting out
of my skin and become neutral as I used to be and leave the ‘Decoded Body’ for
the fans to mob but, it’s impossible. So, I have to live with it.”
Are you
enjoying the fame? “Of course, it opens up a lot of opportunities for me. I
prayed for it but, the way it happened still looks so sudden to me. I was not
expecting at the time; not even with the songs but God has his own plans for
me.”
On when
fans will see the videos of his songs, “We are shooting the video of Durodede
featuring Destiny Boy anytime soon. My management company has concluded all
arrangements so; fans can expect to see that very soon.”
