THE GREAT SECRET I SHARE WITH SIR SHINA PETERS- DOTUN FUTURE

Having toiled through thick and thin, Dotun Future is one of Nigeria’s youngsters doing great in music. His brand, Juju/Gospel has taken him far and near with fans base growing tremendously.

As he prepares to do a re-mix of the two previous albums he has to his name, Dotun has confessed what made his music different from many out there.Taking us down memory lane, he did explain how it all began, “Dotun Future is my name, I sing Juju/Gospel, and professionally I took up music some 19 years ago. Music has always been part of me because it’s a talent I took from my dad. About 25 years ago I started singing in a church, INRI Evangelical Mission church under the able-leadership of Primate Elijah Ayodele.
He tutored me and made me a better person and God has been doing his wonders in my musical career. In a bid to make a landmark in my career, my music has taken me overseas, I have been to Manchester in London and some other places like three different times. My plan is to go on a musical tour to America and Canada this 2018.”

Reacting to the numbers of album he has to his name, he said, “To my name today, I have got two albums, My Helper and Alaanu mi. I have got a project I am working on now. Due to fans and well wishers demand, I want to do a remix of my first and second album with little addition.”

With the new trend music has taken today, Future as he is fondly called said. “These days, beats is what people listen and dance to without a reasonable message in such music, but ours is different. My own type of music is laced with words of God, prayer points and messages that would be of great benefit to human existence. Basically, the kind of background I had coming from a man of God, Primate Elijah Ayodele, his spiritual contribution has a great impact in my music.”

Dotun stressed further, “To provide maximum satisfaction to fans and other music lovers, Capital City Hotel, Oba Akran Ikeja is where we entertain fans two Fridays every month. Besides that, we have other places too around Lagos that we play regularly and this has been on for over a decade."

Speaking about his role model in the music industry, he said Sir Shina Peters has always been a mentor and someone he looks very much up to, He said, “Sir Shina Peters has always been a great person I cherish and the first time I would come in contact with him was when we met in London. I have him as a great father I could always seek from and the secret behind our togetherness is God. 

"While I have Sir Shina Peters as mentor; Primate Ayodele remains a great spiritual father that has done wonders in my life.

Reacting to his musical prowess, Dotun Future has described is talent as a special call by God. “What I have is a call by God. That is why my music stands different amongst what we have around today. My call as a gospel/juju act is to sing and make every souls live according to God’s will. I sing for salvation, I sing to make people trust God and live His ways and God has always been wonderful!
